Our story

An independent festival where community comes first

In 2025, the new owners brought Back Doune The Rabbit Hole back from the brink and gave Scotland's truly independent family festival a new chapter.

Where it began

Back from the brink

In 2025, the new owners stepped in because they believed Scotland needed a truly independent festival where community comes first. That summer, festivalgoers filled the fields of Cardross Estate with life once again, proving its spirit was worth fighting for.

The response was overwhelming. The Herald called it “incredible”, and Is This Music? said the festival “is going to re-establish its place as one of the best family music festivals in Scotland.”

Why it matters

Independent festivals still matter

That first edition was never just about making it through the weekend. It was about building something that belongs to its community, gives new artists a stage, welcomes families and feels like home to everyone who walks through the gates.

The people behind it

Pals, artists, crew and festivalgoers

We're here to do things our way and stay true to our roots. No faceless ownership, just a group of pals, artists, crew and festivalgoers determined to create something special every summer.
